You can play a huge number of Disney games on the Xbox Series X|S!
Since Disney is one of the most well-known names in the world, it has games for all kinds of devices. Lots of Disney games are out there for all kinds of gaming systems, even Xbox ones. Xbox is different because it has some Disney games that can only be played on Xbox. Plus, because it can play games that were released before, you can choose from more games overall.
Also, Disney publishes and distributes a lot of Lucasfilm Games’ older games because they own both Lucasfilm and Lucasfilm Games. A lot of great Star Wars games from the past are still playable today.
Disneyland Adventures
Some games, like Capcom’s Adventures in the Magic Kingdom, which came out for the NES in 1990, are based on Disney parks. It seems like these games come out about every 20 years. Disneyland Adventures came out in 2011 for Xbox 360 and was later updated for Xbox One. This is a really interesting game that’s kind of like a virtual amusement park.
The park is an exact copy of Disneyland in 2010, and you can explore the whole thing. If you’ve been to the park, it’s a lot of fun because you can remember all the good times as you walk through the different places. It gets boring after a while, but you should still play it if you have Xbox Game Pass. It will always be there because Xbox Game Studios made it.
The Disney Afternoon Collection
Capcom has a long history of making good Disney games. The Disney Afternoon Collection brought back a lot of games from the NES era. The games are DuckTales 1, 2, Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 1, 2, Darkwing Duck, and TaleSpin. They were made by Digital Eclipse.
It’s still possible to play four of the games, with only Chip ‘n Dale 2 and TaleSpin being really meh. There is a real gem found in DuckTales 2 that doesn’t get talked about much. Plus there’s a lot of cool extra stuff, and they even added Time Attack and Boss Rush modes. Some games here cost more than a few hundred dollars on their own, so $20 for all six is a pretty good deal.
DuckTales Remastered
Do not be fooled by the title; DuckTales Remastered is an exact copy of the original NES game. In 2013, it wasn’t clear what the difference was between a remaster and a redo. You might find that DuckTales Remastered has too much story, but you can skip all the cutscenes to fix that. The remake of the game is very well done; it looks great, has great level design, and is very true to the original.
Besides that, the new music is also pretty good. There’s a strange thing about this game on Xbox. On Series X|S, the digital and physical versions are seen as two different games. The digital version only has 400 achievements, but the physical copy has 1000! If you’re an award hunter, you should buy the physical copy.
Disney Classic Games: Aladdin And The Lion King
Digital Eclipse is back with a new version of Aladdin and The Lion King, two old Disney Genesis games. The Lion King is a pretty good Genesis game, but Aladdin is the real star of the show and the main reason most people buy this set. It’s one of the best Genesis games ever. It became famous when Electronic Gaming Monthly named it the Best Genesis Game of the Year. That was a huge deal back then.
Many people don’t like how hard it is, but since the collection lets you save your progress and go back, that shouldn’t be too much of a problem. You can also get DLC with different versions of “The Jungle Book” and “Aladdin” for the SNES, which is great on its own.
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix
This game was made by Square Enix, but the idea behind the series is that it’s what happens when you mix Final Fantasy’s RPG features with old-school Disney characters. You get Hearts. There are a lot of games in this series, and the story is ridiculously hard to follow. However, the first two games are must-play RPGs.
At the time, Kingdom Hearts 1 was pretty new because it had battles that happened in real time, while the newest Final Fantasy games still used turn-based battles. This gives the series its own feel, and the first games are still great. HD 1.5 + 2.5 With six of the first games in the series, ReMix is a great place to start.
Monkey Island 2: Special Edition
Monkey Island is the best original game that Lucasfilm Games has ever made. Return to Monkey Island, the newest game, is great, and it’s available on a lot of new devices. But the first two games can only be played on new Xboxes, and Wordle Unlimited is just a bit better.
The writing and tasks in both games are great, but Monkey Island 2 has a much bigger story. This time, there are a lot of places to visit, and the closing made people wonder for years. You should get it for $10 or $20 if you buy the first game too. These are some of the best adventure games ever.
Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga
As far as Traveller’s Tales Lego games go, Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is still the best. It’s strange that the first big modern Lego game is still the best. All nine movies in the newest game, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, can’t even come close to this one.
It’s just plain fun, with funny cutscenes, cool hidden places, and simple but fun gameplay. And the co-op mode is also a lot of fun. For some reason, there’s even competitive multiplayer. It’s fun to beat the game, but don’t do it all the time; it can get boring.
Star Wars: Republic Commando
A lot of Star Wars fans don’t like the prequels, but they did like a lot of the other stuff that came out around that time that built on the Clone Wars era. Shows and games like The Clone Wars and Republic Commando come to mind. As a clone warrior, Republic Commando had a great story that showed things from a point of view that wasn’t shown in movies.
A lot of people still want a second part to this game because the finish leaves a lot to be desired. The first-person shooter gameplay is still pretty good, even though some parts are getting old. What makes this movie great, though, is the story. It’s too bad that the sequel wasn’t made.
Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic
When people think of great Xbox games, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, or KOTOR, is the first one that comes to mind. Since it was on platforms, BioWare became well-known in the RPG world. It was the best Star Wars game up to that point.
The role-playing and writing are just as good now as they were then. The writing is better than the art, which is a good thing because the art doesn’t last as long. The bad graphics and 4:3 aspect ratio will turn off a lot of current gamers, but the story will keep you playing. That good.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors And Ghoul Patrol
The 16-bit Lucasfilm Games games Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Ghoul Patrol are put together in this package. The one you won’t play as much is Ghoul Patrol, mostly because it’s bad and wasn’t really made by Lucasfilm Games. One of the best 16-bit horror games, though, is Zombies Ate My Neighbors. This is the list of enemies from the Cabin in the Woods level.
There are killers with chainsaws, evil dolls, mummies, giant ants, worms that shake, and many more. The gameplay is also great, as you have to carefully plan how to use your resources in the future while also staying alive in the present. This port is great because it lets you save your progress, and at $15, it’s not a bad deal since Zombies Ate My Neighbors will keep you busy for a long time.
