A Prayer for the Active Seasons of Life

It was 5:30 am when I received the rapid kiss and “I’ll see ya afterwards,” goodbye from my sweet hubby as he rushed out the doorway to take our middle daughter to her softball tournament. I had a different 30 minutes just before it was my time to “get going,” and I was heading to soak in every single minute of it. But, when that alarm clock went off, my full entire body groaned at the truth that it was now my time, and it was a single of “those weekends.” The divide and conquer weekends. I was weary. Fatigued of remaining immersed in this crazy time of everyday living. When my oldest came into our bedroom with her softball socks in just one hand and her softball bag in the other, I understood I had to face the destiny of the working day. I compelled myself out of bed, woke up our little 1, and we piled in the automobile, heading in the reverse direction for her event.
This year of our life is super active. Even though we’ve experienced many talks on how to slow down, re-set up our agenda, or make a lot more time for our daughters, and us, we however conclude up below – occupied. Correct back at sq. one particular. Running all over from function to event with our teen daughters, supporting them stay their very best life. Sigh. Regrettably, time is one issue we can hardly ever get back again. So, my spouse and I have managed to see this season for what it is – the “I’ll meet you on the sofa at 10 pm, so we can keep hands and drop into a heap together” period. Our daughters need to have us, our loved ones wants us, and we both equally have careers with deadlines, church obligations, and so a lot of other things that pull us aside in many diverse directions. Although we intention for date nights and the occasional alone time, we have realized that prayer is our instant lifeline. We can generally get as a result of the day when we pray!
The other night time even though we were with each other in our common spot (the sofa) my husband looked in excess of at me and reported, “I wouldn’t want to do this nuts busy existence with any individual else.” And, while several times I want to throw in the towel, I would have to agree…I would not do this with any one else possibly! Then we sat in silence and soaked in the peace of that instant.
Let’s pray:
O Lord,
We arrive ahead of You with this time of limitless parenting requires and request that You decrease our burdens. Be with us Lord, as we are so tired. We know that You are a superior Father and will sustain us throughout this time, so we invite You into our occupied life and inquire You to grant us peace and settle our hearts. As we strive to do our finest to “juggle it all” even though pouring really like more than our small children and marriages, we inquire that we set our sights on You. Be there and be our guide. Clearly show us Your presence as You breathe a minor little bit of existence and calm into our chaos. Provide peace as only You can, as we discover pockets of time when we can rest and lean in on You. Give us power to endure just about every working day and wander beside us, leading and guarding our household as we all disperse in distinctive directions.
Gracious God, we will have to confess that we aren’t always excellent at being aware of how to organize our schedules and can fill them up relatively immediately with pointless factors. We check with that You remember to display us exactly where we can use our time far more efficiently and correctly, as we very long to honor You with our time. O God, You notify us to “Be Even now, and Know…” (Psalm 46:10). But it can be so challenging to uncover individuals times to be still. We can also very easily drop into the traps of seeking stillness and peace that we really don’t even acknowledge the moments when they are presented to us.
