When Pokemon Scarlet and Violet updated some old designs, which ones are the best?
With Pokemon Sun and Moon in Gen 7, regional versions were first added to the Pokemon world. Since then, these fresh takes on old characters have become a favorite of all ages. With each new release, fans couldn’t wait to see how different areas had changed some of their favorites.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the same in this way. Paldean versions of Pokemon that have already been found are here, along with new evolutions and whole new species that are based on Pokemon that already exist. If you’ve been a fan of the series for a long time, these new regional types will be a surprise.
Paldean Tauros
For as long as the story has been around, Tauros has only had one evolution and has been a Normal-type Pokemon. This bull finally got its chance to shine. It gets new life from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, who make a black Tauros with three different forms that each match a different type.
It makes these new forms fun to catch, but the end result isn’t very impressive. When Tauros got a new form, a lot of people thought it would finally evolve into Bountymaster, but for some reason, it didn’t. It’s still a single-stage Pokemon that will be passed over for better options.
Wiglett And Wugtrio
There are many things that will go through your mind when you see Wiglett for the first time. This is a type of Diglett that digs itself into the sand and then pops out. It looks a lot like the Ground-type we already know and love. It’s white and has a long neck. But if you train a Wiglett, you’ll see that it strikes with Water moves instead of Ground moves.
It turns into a rock with three holes through which three different heads stick out. Wiglett and Wugtrio are smart and funny, but they’re really just long-necked Diglett and Dugtrio of the Water type. The worst part is that they aren’t very good in fight and have bad stats that make them useless late in the game.
Dudunsparce
There are a lot of people who like Dunsparce, but it never really got its due. This thing is supposed to be silly and almost useless, that’s the whole point. But that hasn’t stopped fans and modders from making Dunsparce evolve into a scary dragon on their own.
Well, that wasn’t the new growth we got in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, of course. An extra body is all that the Dudunsparce needs to be a Dunsparce. Even though it fits with the idea of the original creature and is funny, it’s easy to see why some people would be upset about it. Fans had been waiting generations for Dunsparce to evolve, but when it did, it was pretty much the same Pokemon.
Farigiraf
Gen 2 added a lot of Pokemon with only one stage, but they would evolve in later generations. In Gen 4, Misdreavus, Aipom, Yanma, and many other Pokémon evolved. But Girafarig was one of the Pokemon that still hadn’t evolved. It was an interesting creature because it was both psychic and normal, and its shape was like two halves joined together.
Aside from that, it was the only giraffe Pokemon we knew of. Farigiraf, who was added in Gen 9, has finally fixed this. When Girafarig gets better and learns Twin Beam, it will change into this. It looks a lot more like the animal it’s based on and is a lot bigger. Along with its tail, which is another brain, it seems to be working. The effect is a lot stronger than what it was before.
Wooper And Clodsire
Paldean Wooper is a cool style. Paldean Wooper is a Ground and Poison type that likes to live in mud and ponds, while Wooper was a Water-type that could swim and fly. While still being different enough to be fun, it’s not too different from the first Pokemon.
The reason you should catch Wooper in Scarlet and Violet is that it changes into Clodsire instead of Quagsire. On its back, this form has spines that can stick out and move around. Many of its traits come from Quagsire, but it is now its own species.
Dipplin
The third generation of Applin is Dipplin, which is only found in the Kitakami area. Dipplin is a Grass and Dragon type, just like its other forms. Flapple, Appletun, and Dipplin all use the same method for growth. If you give an Applin a Syrupy Apple, it will change into a cute candy apple.
Even though it’s small, Dipplin has good stats, mostly in Defense and Special Attack. You can really build your Dipplin however you want since its base stats are spread out evenly. Dipplin has a warm and friendly look when it’s not in fight, like it’s living in its little candy apple house.
Toedscool And Toedscruel
Tentacool and Tentacruel come in the form of Toedscool and Toedscruel. They’re not as much like the Palden form, though. More like the “Wiglett and Wugtrio” thing. They are basically two different Pokémon that have adapted to living in Paldea. They have interesting looks, and Toedscool and Toedscruel are Ground and Grass types, so they walk around on their long limbs instead of swimming.
A Toedscool running away from you is a sight to behold. Instead of running, toedsnake will hop around on its many limbs. They are still great variations, even though the big changes they make from the Pokemon they’re based on don’t make a lot of sense at first.
Kingambit
Bisharp was already one of the coolest Pokemon ever. Getting something else for it would have been the cherry on top, and Kingambit is just that. In Doodle Cricket, though, it’s one of the hardest Pokemon to get—you have to catch a Bisharp that’s in charge of a group of Pawniard. When you catch it, it must also have the Leader’s Crest on its chest.
It will grow after beating three other Bisharp that are in charge of a pack of Pawniard. Kingambit looks like certain types of samurai lords from the past. It will strike quickly to get revenge on those who fall before it. Not only does it look great, but it’s also a great addition to any team.
Annihilape
It was always like Primeape wasn’t important. Seeing as how it’s just a big, angry monkey makes it fun. But since so many better Fighting-types came out before and after it, it’s not really worth using. But Scarlet and Violet changed the rules. Primeape can now learn a new move called Rage Fist. As it gains levels, that move will change it into Annihilape after being used 20 times in fight.
This scary Pokemon is a Fighting and Ghost type. It became so angry that it went beyond having a body. This is a really scary and great design. Annihilape is also a great addition to any team because it has great stats and moves.
